Alabama Crimson Tide Auburn Tigers

Whose Side Are You On?

Football season has arrived, and it’s now time to root for your favorite college rivalry. Are you team Alabama Crimson Tide? Or, do you cheer on the Auburn Tigers? Whichever team you support, it’s undeniable that these rivalries know how to put on a suspenseful, exciting game at their annual Iron Bowl. Competing against each other since 1893, it’s no wonder this series is considered to be one of the most important college rivalries in the annal of American sports.

As you get ready for the upcoming Iron Bowl, our used car dealership in Pelham has some great tips and ideas for those who want to amp up the fun before making their way into the football stadium.

It’s Tailgate Time

What’s the best part of tailgating before an intense football game? You guessed it—stuffing your face with all of your favorite snacks and gulping down delicious beverages. In fact, eating and drinking before opposing teams battle one another has been trending since the Civil War. As we wait for the start of a showdown now, we devour hors d'Oeuvres in the middle of a parking lot while clinging onto a red Solo cup, and strike up conversations with those who are either on our side, or against us.

For the ultimate tailgate experience, we recommend that you prepare lots of food in advance. By making a checklist of everyone’s fan-favorite football foods, you can maneuver through your local grocery store with ease. Cook as many burgers and hotdogs as you can prior to arriving in the parking lot. This way, you won’t have to spend the entire tailgate tending to a grill. You should also visit the stadium’s website to find out the rules and regulations of what you can and can’t bring to your mini celebration.

Hydration is key! Pack plenty of water bottles for your whole crew. Frozen water bottles will allow for a win-win situation as they keep things cold in the cooler, and will provide you with ice-cold water to sip on when they melt. Instead of throwing ice cubes in your cold drinks, you can freeze colored water balloons to match the team you’re rooting for.

What fun is a tailgate without blasting your favorite tunes? Instead of lugging over your heavy and expensive soundsystem, you can make your own. With the help of only two Solo cups and a used paper towel roll, you can easily create makeshift speakers for your smartphone. Or, you can take the less creative route and just crank up the music on your car’s stereo.

Keep these tailgating tips in mind when you’re prepping for the next big game, and you’ll be able to host the ultimate parking lot party.

We are proud to support every hard working athlete who represents our home state of Alabama, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s Iron Bowl has in store!
